SAM Region: Brian Utter Brian Utter, eldest of three brothers, was
born in Rushville, Illinois. At an early age, God placed the wife of a
Nazarene pastor as Brian’s school teacher, and from that, his entire
family became a part of the Nazarene Church. Brian accepted Christ at
8 years of age. After completely surrendering his life to God in 1987, Brian was steered in the direction of radio and spent time working hands on in the Olivet Nazarene University (ONU) radio station. After graduation, Brian became engaged to his wife Lynne and felt God leading him to attend Nazarene Theological Seminary (NTS). It was then that he met Dr. Charles Gailey who shared with him the plans the church had to build a radio studio in Moscow. At that moment, Brian knew what God wanted for him. Living his life as an open connection to the work of the Holy Spirit, Brian follows God’s direction as the Regional Communications Coordinator (RCC) for the South America Region. The region has a three-fold purpose for Communications – Evangelism, Discipleship and Education. Through the development of radio programs, video programs and internet, they are evangelizing, discipling and education through transmissions. Brian graduated from ONU with a Bachelor’s
Degree in Broadcasting and from NTS with a Master’s Degree in Missiology.
Before accepting the position of RCC for the South America Region, Brian
worked as Program Director, Production Director and Music Director for
three radio stations in Chicago. He held the title of Associate Pastor
at Crystal Lawns Church of the Nazarene in Joliet, IL and First Church
of the Nazarene in Streator, IL. He now resides in Buenos Aires, Argentina
with his wife Lynne and their son Jacob. |
